Dr. R. Jonas Collins, DMD is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with more than two decades of experience serving patients in Waynesboro and Charlottesville, VA. He completed his specialty training at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis (1993–1997), launched his practice from the ground up in Waynesboro in 1997, and expanded to a second state-of-the-art location in Charlottesville in 2003. Known for his precise surgical expertise, Dr. Collins has placed over 9,000 dental implants and regularly manages complex cases—including full-mouth restorations and oral pathology—serving as a trusted resource for both patients and referring dentists.
Outside the treatment room, Dr. Collins brings a warm, down-to-earth presence and a genuine passion for his community. He met his wife, Kess, in dental school, and together they raise three children near the Blue Ridge Mountains in Afton, VA. When he’s not restoring smiles, he’s writing screenplays, acting, playing guitar, running, hiking, farming—and even indulging in his love for colonial antiques, Shenandoah Valley pottery, and architectural design.
